چکیده

Performance analysis of maximal-ratio combining receive diversity scheme over Nakagami-0.5 fading channels and its application to the multiuser detection for direct sequence-code division multiple access systems is presented in this paper. A new M-estimator, which performs well in the heavy-tailed impulsive noise, is proposed to robustify the detector. Further, the performance of Eigen mode transmission over a multiple-input–multiple-output Nakagami channel under the channel inversion power allocation scheme is also investigated. The extension to Rician and Rayleigh fading scenarios is also outlined. Simulation results are provided to show the efficacy of the proposed M-estimator, under severe fading conditions of Nakagami-m channel. Keywords— Code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA), Channel inversion (CI), Maximal Ratio Combiner, Multiple-Input MultipleOutput (MIMO), M-Estimator; Multiuser Detection; Nakagami-m Fading.

Multiuser Detection for DS-CDMA Systems on Nakagami-0.5 Fading Channels with Impulsive Noise

Recent attention has been given to Nakagami-0.5 fading channel as a special case of Nakagami-m fading channel with m = 0.5 and as a worst-case (severe) fading scenario. This paper presents a study on the performance analysis of a robust multiuser detector for direct sequencecode division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems including maximal ratio combining (MRC) receive diversity. A new M-estimat...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Blind Multiuser Detection in Asynchronous DS-CDMA Systems over Nakagami-m Fading Channels

This paper presents a technique for blind multiuser detection in asynchronous direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems over Nakagami-m fading channels with impulsive noise. A new Mestimator is proposed and analyzed for robustifying the detector. A closed-from expression for average error rate of DPSK signals is derived. Average probability of error is computed to evaluate...

Multiuser Detection using Particle Swarm Optimization over GK Fading Channels in Laplace Noise

The direct sequence-code division multiple accesses (DS-CDMA) signals are transmitted over multipath channels that introduce fading and shadowing. Combined effect of multipath fading and shadowing along with multiple access interference (MAI) and inter-symbol interference (ISI) worsens the system performance. Further, experimental results have confirmed the presence of impulsive noise in wirele...
